We (“Ghostery GmbH,” Arabellastraße 23, 81925 Munich, Germany) provide this extension (the “Extension”) free of charge.
Open-Source License
The Extension is licensed under the GPL-3.0. You may view, modify, and distribute the source code under that license. Where these Terms conflict with the GPL-3.0, the GPL-3.0 prevails regarding source code rights.
Trademarks
“Ghostery,” “WhoTracks.Me,” the ghost mascot, and associated logos are registered trademarks of Ghostery GmbH. If you fork our code, you must remove all Ghostery branding from your modified version.
Your Contribution
The Extension is powered by its community. When you browse the web, websites may collect information about you. The Extension collects statistical reports, e.g. on navigational routes, and transmits limited technical information about them to WhoTracks.Me as set out in our Ghostery Manifesto to improve tracker detection and privacy protection for all users. The transmitted data is limited to information necessary for identifying and analysing trackers (e.g. tracker domains or technical metadata) and it is processed in a way that is designed to prevent attribution to individual users. Communications are encrypted, and technical and organisational measures are implemented to ensure data cannot be linked back to individuals. This reporting functionality is a core feature of the Extension and cannot be disabled while the Extension is active.
Disclaimer of Warranties and Liability
The Extension may occasionally cause websites to function improperly. The Extension is provided “AS IS” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ghostery GmbH shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the Extension. This disclaimer does not apply to damages caused by intentional misconduct or gross negligence, damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health, claims under mandatory product liability law and any other claims that cannot be excluded under mandatory applicable law.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
