Edge-Specific Considerations

Intune Integration

Microsoft Edge has first-class support in Intune's Settings Catalog, making it the easiest browser to manage in Microsoft 365 environments. The Settings Catalog provides a GUI-based configuration experience without needing to write JSON or use OMA-URI.

Edge vs Chrome Extension IDs

Edge uses a different extension ID than Chrome because Ghostery is published separately to the Edge Add-ons store. Always use the Edge-specific ID (fclbdkbhjlgkbpfldjodgjncejkkjcme) and update URL when deploying to Edge.

Chrome Web Store Extensions on Edge

While Edge can install extensions from the Chrome Web Store, enterprise deployments should use the Edge Add-ons store version for proper update management and support.

Edge for Business

Edge for Business includes additional enterprise features and is the recommended version for organizational deployments. Ghostery works identically on both consumer and business versions of Edge.
